Data Destruction / Asset Disposal
Services:
Computers with Causes will provide asset disposition services for
electronic and excess equipment on an ongoing basis. The services
include:
Logistics:
Computers with Causes shall pick up equipment as a donation to
charity, at its sole expense at any location and in any manner
specified.
Data Security:
Computers with Causes shall remove data from all storage devices in
accordance with Dept of Defense (DOD) 5220.22-M standard. Devices
that are non-operational will be physically destroyed.
All items will be stored in a non-accessible area of our facilities
until such time that the hard drives can be erased in compliance
with Gutmann's data destruction methodology.
Re-use Program:
Computers with Causes shall re-furbish and re-use all viable
equipment received from it's donors with an emphasis on educational
causes either directly or indirectly and the furtherance of
charitable programs in the community.
Computers with Causes shall complete asset recovery services within
90 days of pick-up.
Asset Disposal Program:
Computers with Causes shall manage the asset disposal program for
its donors including:
Computers with Causes shall dispose and recycle all obsolete and
non-viable equipment utilizing a "zero landfill" procedure in which
items are de-assembled to their component level (circuit board,
glass, metal, plastic) for recycling and re-use.
Computers with Causes shall provide title transfers and certificates
of destruction to its donors as required.
Reporting:
Computers with Causes shall provide to its Donors the following
reports as required:
Inventory Report - specifying each item of equipment picked up in
the previous month including the pick up date, Donor (or
Affiliate/Division) address, type, manufacturer, and serial number
for each item.
