How to donate a computer
It starts with one form. We review every donation, then send shipping details or plan a bulk pickup. Please don't ship anything before you hear from us.

Each step in detail
1. Fill out the donation form
The form has three short parts. First, your device: the type, make and model, its condition and an estimated value. Second, up to three photos and where the device is. Third, your name, phone and email.
Two or three photos is plenty. A photo of the whole device, one of the label with the model number, and one of any damage helps our team decide quickly.
2. We review it
Our team looks at every donation case by case: what it is, its condition, and whether it can be refurbished or used for parts. We reply by email with next steps.
We can't promise acceptance before review. Most equipment is welcome, with one exception: we don't accept CRT monitors.
3. Ship it or schedule pickup
If your donation is approved, we email you the shipping address and packing instructions. Donors ship at their own cost; shipping is sometimes reimbursed, so ask during review. Please don't ship anything before you hear from us.
Bulk donations, such as an office cleanout or a cart of Chromebooks, are picked up instead. Bulk pickup is available in all states. There is no drop-off location.
4. Your acknowledgment
When we receive your donation, Giving Center sends a written acknowledgment describing what you gave. You decide the value; we can't appraise it. Our tax guide explains how deductions work.
5. It goes to someone new
Your device is wiped, refurbished and given to a student, job seeker, senior, veteran, family, school or nonprofit.
