Who donates from Kentucky
Kentucky donations come from healthcare and logistics offices in Louisville, university and horse-industry businesses around Lexington, manufacturers along the I-65 corridor, and families in Appalachian communities where a donated computer can make a real difference.
Humid summers mean packed devices should stay dry and indoors until you ship.
Donating from home
Most donations from Kentucky homes are a single laptop, desktop or tablet. Fill out the form with a few photos and an estimated value. Our team reviews it and, if approved, emails you the shipping address and packing instructions.
Donors in Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green and smaller towns all follow the same steps. Please don't ship anything before your form is approved.
Businesses, schools and nonprofits
Businesses, schools and nonprofits across Kentucky can donate in bulk, and bulk pickup is available everywhere in the state. Send a list with device types, models and quantities, and tell us about access at your site.
Offices in Louisville replacing a fleet of laptops, school districts retiring Chromebooks and property managers clearing out a building all use bulk donation.
Your data
We wipe every device with Acronis before it's reused. You can protect yourself further by backing up, signing out of your accounts and resetting the device before you donate. Our guides cover Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iPhone, iPad and Android.
Taxes for Kentucky donors
Computers with Causes is a program of Giving Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. If you itemize, you may be able to deduct the fair market value of your donation on your federal return. Starting in 2026, itemizers can deduct only giving above 0.5% of adjusted gross income.
State tax rules vary. Ask your tax preparer how a donation affects your Kentucky return. Our tax guide explains the federal rules.
