Monitor brands we see often

Dell, HP, Lenovo, LG, Samsung, ASUS, Acer, BenQ, ViewSonic, AOC, MSI, Philips, Gigabyte, Alienware, Apple Studio Display, Apple Pro Display XDR, Eizo, NEC and Sceptre, and many more.

Not on the list? It is here to help you find your monitor, not to limit what we consider. We review every make and model, listed or not, including small builders and brands that are no longer around. What matters is condition, never the name on the bezel, so enter yours on the form even if you don't see it here.

What to know about donating a monitor

Where monitors end up

A second screen helps a nonprofit office work faster, and a monitor turns a donated laptop into a full desk setup for a student. Flat panel LCD and LED monitors are welcome.

We do not accept CRT monitors, the deep, heavy tube style.

What we look at during review

Tell us the brand, model, size and the connections on the back (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C). Photos of the screen powered on help us check for lines or dead spots.

Stands and power cords are helpful if you have them.

Nothing to wipe

Monitors don't store your files, so there is nothing to reset. Clean the screen gently with a dry microfiber cloth.

Value and your tax receipt

If you itemize, you may be able to deduct the fair market value of your monitor, which is what the same model in similar condition sells for used today. You determine the value; we can't appraise it. Giving Center sends a written acknowledgment describing what you donated.

Starting with the 2026 tax year, itemizers can deduct only giving above 0.5% of adjusted gross income, and items you deduct at more than $500 need Form 8283. Our tax guide covers the details. Ask your tax preparer what applies to you.

Before you ship: check it and protect the screen

Monitors don't hold personal data, so the main job is making sure it arrives without a cracked panel.

  1. 1

    Check it works

Note any lines, dead pixels or flicker on the form.

  2. 2

    Remove the stand

Detach the stand if it comes off, and pack it separately.

  3. 3

    Protect the panel

Cover the screen with a soft cloth and a firm sheet of cardboard.

  4. 4

    Gather the cable

Include one video cable and the power cable if you have them.

Packing and shipping your monitor

Please send the form first and wait for our reply. We'll send the shipping address and instructions once we've reviewed it. We can only take items we've approved, so please don't ship anything before you hear from us.

Wait for our OK. We send the address and instructions after we review your form.

Pack it well. Use the original box if you have it. Otherwise pad heavily and keep the panel upright, not flat.

Label what's inside with a note listing each item, so we can match it to your form.

Ship with tracking. Donors ship at their own cost. Shipping is sometimes reimbursed; ask when we review your donation.

A note on taxes

If you itemize, you may be able to deduct the fair market value of your monitor: what a willing buyer would pay for it as it is today. You decide the value, and your tax preparer can tell you what applies to you. We don't appraise items and can't promise a deduction.
