We review every item case by case. We don't accept CRT monitors. Pick your device to see how to get it ready.
Shipping one device, or clearing out an office
Single devices are shipped from Idaho after your form is approved. Donors ship at their own cost, and shipping is sometimes reimbursed. We send the address only once your donation is approved, so please don't ship anything before you hear from us.
Businesses, schools and offices in Idaho with many devices can schedule a bulk pickup. Send us a list of what you have and we'll plan it with you.

Who donates from Idaho
Idaho donations come from tech and manufacturing offices around Boise, the research community near Idaho Falls, university departments in Moscow and Pocatello, and farms and ranches across the Snake River Plain that use tablets and laptops for daily work.
Winters in northern and eastern Idaho are cold. Let a device warm up indoors before you pack or test it.
Donating from home
For a single computer in Idaho, start with the form. Include the make and model, its condition, photos and an estimated value.
If it's approved, we'll email the shipping address and what to include. Donors in Boise and every other part of Idaho ship at their own cost.
Businesses, schools and nonprofits
If your Idaho business or school has more than a few devices, ask about bulk pickup. It is available in all states, including everywhere in Idaho.
Send your list with the form and we'll plan the pickup with you.
Your data
We wipe every device with Acronis before it's reused. You can protect yourself further by backing up, signing out of your accounts and resetting the device before you donate. Our guides cover Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iPhone, iPad and Android.
Taxes for Idaho donors
Computers with Causes is a program of Giving Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. If you itemize, you may be able to deduct the fair market value of your donation on your federal return. Starting in 2026, itemizers can deduct only giving above 0.5% of adjusted gross income.
State tax rules vary. Ask your tax preparer how a donation affects your Idaho return. Our tax guide explains the federal rules.
