Who donates from Tennessee
Tennessee donations come from healthcare companies and the music industry in Nashville, logistics businesses in Memphis, research and energy offices around Knoxville and Oak Ridge, auto plants, and families in small towns across the state.
Humid summers mean packed devices should stay dry and indoors.
Donating from home
If you're in Memphis or anywhere else in Tennessee with one or two devices at home, the process starts online. You tell us what you have, we review it, and approved donations ship to the address we send you.
There is no drop-off location, so shipping after approval is the way single devices reach us from Tennessee.
Businesses, schools and nonprofits
From Memphis office parks to small businesses in Knoxville, Tennessee organizations can schedule a bulk pickup for approved donations.
A spreadsheet export from your asset system is a good start. A certificate of data destruction is available on request.
Your data
We wipe every device with Acronis before it's reused. You can protect yourself further by backing up, signing out of your accounts and resetting the device before you donate. Our guides cover Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iPhone, iPad and Android.
Taxes for Tennessee donors
Computers with Causes is a program of Giving Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. If you itemize, you may be able to deduct the fair market value of your donation on your federal return. Starting in 2026, itemizers can deduct only giving above 0.5% of adjusted gross income.
State tax rules vary. Ask your tax preparer how a donation affects your Tennessee return. Our tax guide explains the federal rules.
