Wait for approval first
We review every donation before anything is shipped. Once your form is approved, we email you the shipping address and any instructions for your items. Please don't ship anything before you hear from us. Packages that arrive without an approved form may not be accepted.

- The device is backed up, signed out and reset
- SIM and memory cards are removed
Packing

Pick a sturdy box
Use the original box or one a few inches larger than the device on every side.

Pad every side
Use bubble wrap, foam or crumpled paper so nothing moves.

Protect screens
Add a firm sheet of cardboard over laptop and monitor screens.

Wrap accessories
Wrap chargers and cables separately so they don't scratch the device.

Add a note
List what's in the box and your name.
Shipping
- Donors ship at their own cost
- Shipping is sometimes reimbursed; ask during review
- Use a carrier with tracking and keep your receipt
- Unreimbursed shipping costs may be deductible; ask your tax preparer
Batteries
Don't ship loose or swollen batteries. Ask us before shipping drone or large lithium batteries.
Packing by device
Laptops
Close the lid with a sheet of foam or paper over the keyboard. Wrap in bubble wrap and leave two inches of padding on every side.
Desktops and towers
Ship the tower upright if you can. Remove any loose cards or drives and pack them separately.
Monitors
Remove the stand. Cover the screen with cardboard and pack the monitor standing on its edge.
Tablets and phones
Wrap individually, screen inward, in a small box with padding.
Labeling and tracking
- Use a carrier with tracking
- Keep the tracking number and receipt
- Write your name on the note inside the box
- Seal every seam with packing tape
